David P. Baugh is a graduate of Virginia State University and Thurgood Marshall School of Law. A Virginia lawyer, engaged in, almost exclusively, criminal defense practice. Over the course of his practice he had been President of the Richmond Criminal Bar, the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, The Criminal Law Section of the Virginia State Bar, a board member of the ACLU of Virginia and part of its legal advisory panel. He has been on the faculty at the National Criminal Defense College at Mercer College of Law in Macon, Georgia. He holds numerous legal awards, including the L. Douglas Wilder Award, was named a Human Rights Hero by the Civil Rights Section of the ABA, has been recognized as a Leader in the Law by Lawyers Weekly and received the VSB Lewis F. Powell Pro Bono Award.
